![]() ![]() Every day we find a new issue that it's causing. I need to know how to remove and disable the anti-virus components of Acronis as they are causing all kinds of problems, interfering with Sophos, hangs, performance, etc. How do you disable Acronis Cyber Protection Service? If I try to Stop or Disable, I get Access Denied. If it comes to that, then we will be looking for a true backup solution to get away from this disaster. The only workaround we currently know of is to remove Acronis from all machines. ![]() any suggestions? And it's not just the Cyber Protection, we've identified issues with Active Protection that manifest even when disabled, so it needs to be comletely removed. So now I'm scrambling to find a way to fix this mess. So I wonder what the user installed this time? Turns out that we got it as part of an update to our Acronis BACKUP software! WTF!? So now we have 300+ machines running both Sophos and Cyber Protection and seeing all kinds of issues, new issues crop up every day. I see this service for Cyber Protection as the culprit. So I thought, maybe the user installed something. We only use Sophos as our antivirus and make sure all others are disabled. Recently I was troubleshooting issues with machines that looked like a problem with two antivirus/malware programs running at the same time. We use Acronis to back up over 300 machines. An internal development task with ID AMP-2649 was provided by the Security Team that we can follow, but as of now it's in the early state with no dates confirmed or even suggested. Preliminary estimations to provide delivery dates of this feature were not yet provided.Ĥ. Development team is currently estimating and planning the implementation that would allow to avoid running services that are not actively used or at least removing the dependencies where possible.ģ. For customers using Standard Edition without Active Protection functionality this shouldn't be an issue however, but the services are still running and are not stoppable.Ģ. However, at the same time we understand that your customers is not using any Active or Cyber Protection features and having those services unmanageable looks like an issue to them.ġ. In current implementation the services can't be manually stopped or restarted, which is why to resolve any issues caused by these service a device reboot would be required, only possible workaround at the moment. Acronis Cyber Protection and Acronis Active Protection services are marked as "NOT_STOPPABLE" and "NOT_PAUSABLE" by design as a part of self-protection mechanism. ![]()
